With a humanized and multidisciplinary approach, the project promotes the personal, social and professional development of these adolescents, always in conjunction with their families and the social protection network.

Our mission

Hold people accountable without punishing. Educate with empathy. Redefine behavior based on listening, welcoming and monitoring.

The project works to help teenagers understand the impacts of their choices and, most importantly, recognize that it is possible to rebuild their own path with dignity and autonomy.

What we offer

We currently serve an average of 8 teenagers per month, offering specialized support in the following areas:

• Legal – ensuring rights and due process;
• Psychological – taking care of mental and emotional health;
• Pedagogical – encouraging learning and the return to formal education;
• Social Assistance – strengthening family and community ties.

We also maintain partnerships with important institutions, such as Rede Cidadão, Projeto ViraVida, UBS Clementino Fraga and CAPS AD Gey Espinheira, which expand opportunities for social and professional reintegration of adolescents.

Challenges and overcoming

Despite the positive impact, we face major social barriers. The stigma associated with this group often makes it difficult to connect with external services and access opportunities. Even so, stories of overcoming obstacles show that the work bears fruit.

Such is the case of JSS, a teenager from the interior of Bahia, who had his measure terminated in 2023. During his time in the unit, with the support of the team and individual planning, he structured his life project in the capital, using the resources acquired while serving the measure. Today, he remains independent and maintains contact, reporting significant personal progress.

The role of the family

We know that family participation is essential in this process. That is why we developed the project “Family hand in hand with semi-freedom”, which encourages dialogue, support and direct involvement of the family in the adolescent’s reintegration process.

• Breaking the stigma: talk about the issue, support inclusive public policies;
• Strengthening the support network: encourage partnerships and opportunities for adolescents in socio-educational measures;
• Believing in transformation: because every young person deserves a new chance.
