Description

What we offer

  • Temporary shelter with adequate physical and emotional structure;
  • Psychosocial monitoring, with referrals to the health and education network;
  • Pedagogical and psychological support, in partnership with public schools and specialized services;
  • Recreational, cultural and sporting activities that promote coexistence, autonomy and self-esteem;
  • Preparation for adult life and support for a safe transition, when necessary.

Every month, up to 12 teenagers are welcomed at Casa Aquarela, receiving individualized attention in an environment that prioritizes respect, care and affection.

Challenges we face

With the increase in the arrival of teenagers with a history of socio-educational measures and challenging profiles, Casa Aquarela faces two major challenges:

  • Constant training of professionals to deal with the complexities of reception with empathy and efficiency;
  • Difficulties in hiring qualified personnel, compromising the continuity of specialized care.

Support network and partnerships

Casa Aquarela's work is strengthened by a broad network of partnerships, including:

  • Serviços de saúde do SUS, escolas públicas e centros de assistência social (CRAS, CREAS);
  • CERSAMI, ASSPROM, DMA, CEVAM and voluntary initiatives such as churches and community groups.

This network ensures that each adolescent in care has access to their rights and the opportunities necessary to rebuild their trajectory.

When welcoming transforms

Stories of overcoming obstacles are born amidst the daily care. A striking example is that of a former resident of Casa Aquarela who, after being sent to the Youth Housing Association, entered UFMG and, years later, returned to the shelter — no longer as a resident, but as an educator. Today, he inspires other young people to also believe in their own paths.

How you can support

  • Volunteer: your time and presence can transform realities;
  • Make donations: material and financial contributions are essential to maintain and improve our services;
  • Spread the word: help combat prejudice and misinformation about institutional care;
  • Support families: initiatives that strengthen family ties are essential to avoid breakups and ensure safe reintegrations.

What we share

We ethically and responsibly disseminate content that helps inform and raise awareness in society: campaigns, inspiring stories, research, videos, good practices and prevention and integration actions. Always respecting the right to privacy of the adolescents we care for.

Casa Aquarela is more than just a shelter. It is a temporary home, ongoing care and a bridge to a possible future.

Because every adolescence deserves to be lived with dignity, support and hope.
