Our mission

More than combating violence, Chega Aí seeks to redefine the urban experience of youth, offering paths for cultural and social development that value talents, expand repertoires and bring young people closer to protection networks and opportunities.

What we do

• Music production and urban dance workshops, with a special focus on funk, a rhythm that directly connects with the territory;
• Psychosocial support for participants;
• Easy access to professional studios and cultural events;
• Activities carried out at the Israel Pinheiro, Doutor Julio Soares and Fernando Dias Costa Municipal Schools;
• Cultural training and integration into the city’s artistic scenes.

Walking with the community

The project is in the process of being restarted with a new team, and activities with the public are expected to begin by June. We already have partnerships with municipal schools in L4 and are mapping new partners — such as cultural centers, CRAS and local collectives — to expand our network of operations.

Although we do not yet have any formal impact stories, we have already identified the great potential of the Funk Incubator, one of the project's most committed actions and which promises to transform realities through music, expression and collective creation.

How can you strengthen Chega Aí?

• Propose partnerships with events, projects or services active in the territory;
• Share community agendas and guidelines;
• Provide spaces, equipment or knowledge that can contribute to our activities;
• Bring your experience, listening skills and creativity to the circles and workshops with young people.

Content that transforms

We will publicize workshops, discussion groups, artistic productions, presentations, partnerships and everything that is the result of the collective power of the youth from the outskirts. Stay tuned — great creations are coming!
