CARE FOR ADOLECENTS AND YOUNG PEOPLE COMPLETING SOCIO-EDUCATIONAL MEASURES
Acompanhamento e novas oportunidades para adolescentes e jovens após medidas socioeducativas. O Programa Se Liga foi criado para garantir que o fim de uma medida socioeducativa não seja o fim das oportunidades, mas sim o início de um novo ciclo. Implantado em Juiz de Fora, o projeto acompanha adolescentes e jovens recém-desligados das medidas de internação e semiliberdade em Minas Gerais, oferecendo apoio contínuo, orientação e construção de novos caminhos.

A new beginning, with dignity
When leaving the socio-educational system, many adolescents and young people face prejudice, abandonment, social vulnerability and few real opportunities for reintegration. Se Liga acts precisely at this crucial moment, with the aim of reducing recidivism in crime and creating concrete strategies for inclusion and citizenship.
In the Juiz de Fora region, the project serves young people from the municipalities of Juiz de Fora, Muriaé, Ubá, Cataguases, Viçosa and Manhuaçu.
What we offer
With an interdisciplinary team made up of professionals from the areas of psychology, social work and law, the Se Liga Program offers:
- Active listening and qualified reception;
- Individual consultations;
- Thematic workshops;
- Referrals to the Social Protection Network;
- Articulation with Inpatient and Semi-Freedom Units;
- Access to cultural, educational and service spaces;
- Family support;
- Support in the search for educational and professional opportunities.
Each service is designed in a personalized way, respecting the history, challenges and potential of each young person.
Our challenges
Despite the commitment and quality of services, the project faces important challenges:
- Difficulty entering the formal job market, due to barriers such as experience requirements, minimum training or social stigmas;
- Complex school reintegration, due to early dropout and educational gap;
- Lack of desire or perspective, a reflection of trajectories marked by multiple exclusions.
Therefore, in addition to working directly with young people, it is essential to raise awareness in society about the importance of reintegration and combat the prejudice that still marginalizes them.
Walking with support
Se Liga – Juiz de Fora already has partnerships with programs and institutions such as Descubra – Minas Gerais Learning Incentive Program and PPCAAM (Child and Adolescent Protection Program Threatened with Death). A partnership with the City of Juiz de Fora is also underway, expanding the support network for the public served.
Small steps, big changes
Still in its initial phase, the project already supports 11 adolescents and young people and, even without consolidated reports of transformation, the first steps demonstrate the positive impact of the bond, listening and active presence in the daily lives of those who leave a context of deprivation of liberty.
How you can support
- Practice acceptance and combat stigma: listening to and respecting stories without judgment is the first step towards a more just society.
- Review inclusion criteria for job vacancies: making prerequisites more flexible and creating real opportunities makes a difference.
- Spread the word about the cause: talk about the project, help expand the support network and break down the walls of prejudice.
Se Liga believes that every young person deserves to be looked at with humanity, hope and confidence in the future.
