Project Sol: A Beacon for Mental Health and Female Empowerment

What began in April 2019 as a Social Office, a project focused on serving the elderly, has evolved into a space of welcome and hope for women in vulnerable situations. With art therapy, flip-flop customization, and crochet workshops, the project has always been committed to listening to and valuing each life story.

With the arrival of the Quem nos Ama Mais program, the initiative expanded to also support women experiencing domestic and gender-based violence. This initiative marked the transition to the Escritório Social BH, a space that symbolizes not only the sum of services, but also the building of bonds, trust, and new opportunities.

This journey of growth culminated on August 29, 2025, with the launch of Projeto Sol. The new name reflects the project's mission: to be the light that illuminates the lives of those seeking a new beginning. With a multidisciplinary technical team comprised of a psychologist, lawyer, and social worker, Projeto Sol offers comprehensive services that go beyond support, aiming to build a new reality for every woman.

In line with Yellow September, suicide prevention awareness month, Projeto Sol reinforces its commitment to mental health. We believe that care cannot be neutral. Each woman is influenced by her life story and the social, cultural, and biological contexts that shape her worldview. Ignoring this complexity perpetuates inequalities. Therefore, each service is personalized and respectful, seeking to understand each person's unique needs.

At Projeto Sol, caring for mental health means recognizing that every story can be redefined. The space is a path back to oneself, where each woman finds support to rebuild her journey with dignity, respect, and hope. Just as Yellow September reminds us that talking is the best solution, Projeto Sol reaffirms its commitment to valuing life, self-esteem, and autonomy every day.
